POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Spa & Wellness is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Spa and Fitness Center, as well as the strategic planning and goal setting for both departments. This will position will be responsible for ensuring guest and Team Member satisfaction and achieving the operating budget, adhering to all Company, Safety, and department policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the thermal experiences, Reboot Lounge, Nail Salon spa treatments and Fitness Center
  • Ensure achievement of sales goals, business objectives and profitability
  • Monitor payroll and expenditures to successfully achieve spa profit plan
  • Utilize effective recruiting techniques to attract and hire qualified service treatment providers and support staff
  • Develop, implement, and uphold sales and guest service training. Lead by example and manage the team in delivering uncompromising levels of guest service
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and the operation is running efficiently
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of facility products, features, amenities, and services performed in the field
  • Ensure all guest interactions at the spa and fitness center meet or exceed property operating standards
  • Ensure proper inventories of all operating spa equipment and supplies are conducted in order to effectively manage operational cost
  • Inspect all equipment to make certain it is always maintained and in good working order, following up with facilities department when necessary
  • Monitor and review spa employee’s performance regularly and provide required guidance
  • Set standards and directed sanitary maintenance of the Spa in compliance with Health regulation and ensure all areas of the spa and fitness center is maintained, cleaned, and sanitized to hotel operating standards
  • Assist the Director of Spa & Salon in preparing, implementing, and updating business and marketing plans for short-term and long-term goals
  • Assist the Director of Spa & Salon in monitoring annual budget and forecasts, reviewing monthly financial statements, and utilizing yield management strategies
  • Managing expenses against budget and maintaining continual awareness of expense/loss control to ensure effective management of expenses developing and monitoring financial strategies to increase revenues while controlling operating expenses,
  • Assist the Director of Spa & Salon with the development and maintenance of beneficial partnerships with all products, equipment, and supply vendors that include competitive pricing, technical support, training programs, and promotions
  • Hold regular staff meetings to keep team members up to date on all aspects of the spa and fitness operation
  • Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing
  • Ensure Fontainebleau core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • At least six (6) years of experience in hotel operations, spa management, or a similar or related field.
  • At least three years of leadership/management experience in a resort spa or a similar or related field.
  • Working knowledge of spa booking systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Point of Sale systems, Property Management systems and Casino Player Tracking systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Polished appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to successfully lead and mentor a team.
  • All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with all laws and regulations, as well as Fontainebleau Las Vegas policies, practices and procedures.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises all positions within the Spa & Wellness and Fitness departments

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
