POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of all IT assets and Configuration Items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle. This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), providing essential support for IT service management processes, including incident, problem, and change. The SACM Analyst will work closely with the IT Asset Manager, IT Service Management (ITSM) team, and other IT functions to develop, manage, and maintain the SACM processes, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and internal policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Develop, implement, and maintain SACM processes to manage IT assets and configuration items throughout their lifecycle
- Ensure the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is accurate, complete, and up-to-date
- Monitor and maintain asset data integrity by conducting regular audits and reconciliations
- Create and maintain detailed configuration records, including hardware, software, services, and infrastructure
- Identify, record, and manage Configuration Item (CI) relationships and dependencies within the CMDB
- Oversee the data quality of asset and configuration records, including verifying accuracy and completeness
- Develop and enforce data management standards and governance policies
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports related to IT assets and configuration management, including compliance, utilization, and lifecycle status
- Provide insights and analysis of asset and configuration data to support IT decision-making and strategic planning
- Track and report on metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to SACM activities
- Identify and report on data discrepancies, anomalies, and trends
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SACM processes and practices
- Conduct periodic reviews of SACM procedures and recommend improvements based on ITIL best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization and automation
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and audit requirements related to IT asset management and configuration management
- Collaborate with IT service owners, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the CMDB
- Assist with configuration audits and contribute to the improvement of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices
- Support incident, problem and change processes by providing accurate and reliable configuration data
- Educate and train IT staff and other stakeholders on SACM processes and best practices
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in IT Service Management, Asset Management, or Configuration Management
- Proven experience working with Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools
- Experience with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Jira Service Management)
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and best practices, ideally ITIL Foundation certified
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting, including the use of tools such as Excel and Power BI
- Solid understanding of IT asset and configuration management processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- ITIL Intermediate or Expert certification
- Experience with IT asset discovery and inventory tools
- Experience in developing and maintaining IT configuration management policies and procedures
- Knowledge of software license management and compliance
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
