POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Projects will play a critical role in the development and execution of strategies, guidance, and leadership

to ensure the achievement of property and departmental goals. This position is responsible for managing high-performing

teams, overseeing budgets and capital plans, coordinating design efforts, and maintaining a culture of teamwork, exceeding service goal expectations throughout the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Prepare bids, specifications, and coordination of capital projects involving construction, maintenance services, and equipment installation
  • Continuous monitoring of projects, identifying potential cost increases or changes in the schedule and implementing necessary remedies
  • Collaboration with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to determine project specifications
  • Assistance in the preparation of project proposals, including budget spreadsheets, scope qualifications, and project-specific documents for presentation
  • Obtain permits and licenses from relevant authorities for project execution
  • Maintenance and management of a world-class preventative maintenance program, inspecting and documenting equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, water, refrigeration, and other integrated systems in daily operations
  • Provides strategic oversight of project budgets, including detailed forecasting, rigorous expense monitoring, and regular auditing to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and optimal resource allocation
  • Effective collaboration with executives, understanding the sense of urgency, removing obstacles, and addressing daily challenges to achieve positive outcomes
  • Oversight of budgets and forecasting for the assigned function of the department
  • Support for the hiring process, identification of competencies, and establishment of criteria to hire, train, develop, and organize highly qualified team members
  • Development of RFPs and oversight of comprehensive vendor contracts, requiring strong negotiation skills
  • Performance of all duties assigned to support the efficient operation of the department
  • Ensuring consistent adherence to OSHA guidelines, addressing violations or concerns promptly
  • Creation of an environment where team members feel empowered to report potential violations and/or misconduct
  • Ensuring that quality services and controls conform to established standards
  • Administration and control of the preventive maintenance program
  • Adaptation to temporary or permanent additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Six (6) years prior experience in Facilities/Engineering for a large-scale resort and casino while in a leadership position
  • CPO Certification preferred
  • Proven experience/knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks
  • Display advanced knowledge of all engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such programs
  • Knowledge of CHP (Combined Heat and Power) systems
  • Ability to actively influence and drive collaboration with individuals or groups at various levels within and outside of the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry Statutes and Regulations
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high-quality service levels
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
  • Nevada B General Builder Contractor license preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job may supervise positions including but not limited to managers, engineers, laborers, and dispatchers.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
