POSITION OVERVIEW
The Specialty Master Cook (Pizza) will display expertise in pizza cooking techniques, ensuring food quality according to department standards and ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Showcase expert knowledge and proficiency in pizza dough preparation, stretching, and tossing techniques
- Create a variety of traditional and innovative pizza recipes, ensuring exceptional taste, texture, and presentation
- Collaborate with the culinary team to contribute creative ideas for pizza menu enhancements and seasonal specials
- Conduct research on new ingredients, flavor combinations, and pizza trends to inspire innovative additions to the menu
- Ensure all pizzas meet the highest standards of taste, texture, and visual appeal
- Monitor portion control and maintain food quality throughout the pizza preparation process
- Manage the pizza station, including organizing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring proper equipment functionality
- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate orders and ensure timely delivery of freshly baked pizzas to guests
- Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff, particularly those involved in pizza preparation techniques
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining stock levels of pizza-related ingredients, and communicate replenishment needs to management
- Strictly adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized pizza preparation area
- Implement best practices for food handling, storage, and kitchen safety to ensure a safe working environment
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience of at least 2 years as a Specialty Master Cook or Pizzaiolo with a focus on pizza preparation
- Extensive knowledge of pizza dough making, stretching, and baking techniques
- Creativity and a passion for experimenting with new pizza toppings, sauces, and flavor combinations
- A keen eye for detail in ingredient preparation, recipe adherence, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods during busy service hours
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices to ensure a hygienic and safe kitchen environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to achieve culinary excellence
- A passion for culinary innovation and a willingness to contribute creative ideas to the menu preparation
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
- Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

SALARY
$28.81 per hour
