POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accounts Receivable Shift Manager supports the Accounts Receivable Manager and is responsible for overseeing activities related to accounts receivable department as well as a variety of functions within the daily operations including, but not limited to collections, billing, audits, as well as customer service and guest inquiries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Work with the A/R manager to implement efficient processes to ensure high-quality, consistent, and accurate results
  • Ensure billings and receivables are correctly processed in a timely manner
  • Exercise judgment and takes appropriate action with respect to matters involving customers’ personal information such as credit card accounts, bank accounts, and billing statements
  • Address and correct any discrepancies in accounts or billings
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and specialists to negotiate acceptable payment plans
  • Provide accurate reports and analysis on financial data and metrics such as cash forecasting, sales statistic information, and monthly net sales reports
  • Balance daily receivables to hotel reports
  • Assists manager with analysis of data and reports
  • Administer coaching and discipline to the A/R Leads and Specialists as needed
  • Prepare performance evaluations on an ongoing basis for delivery to A/R Leads and Specialists
  • Responsible for interviewing and selecting A/R personnel as needed
  • Assists process month-end journal entries and reconciliations
  • Leadership and to review policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in accounting or other related fields; or thee (3) or more years of experience in a lead Accounts Receivable role
  • Previous property opening experience preferred
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures
  • Proven effective leadership and management of assigned personnel with department lead preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job supervises Accounts Receivable Leads and multiple Accounts Receivable Specialists.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
