POSITION OVERVIEW
The Utility Houseperson is responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of all hotel tower hallways and guest rooms, upholstery, drapes/sheers, marble/stone surfaces, tile, and flooring.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Clean and maintain all guest hallways and back of house areas when needed including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, cleaning walls/baseboards, vending areas, all furniture and fixtures
- Regularly shampoo and deep extract guest room and hallway carpet
- Polish and buff tile flooring as needed
- Responsible for impromptu shampoo and flood water extraction of designated areas in hotel tower
- Must be able to operate and maneuver heavy equipment and machinery
- Always use correct cleaning chemicals for designated areas/surfaces according to OSHA and management requirements
- Assist with moving furniture
- Assist with high dusting of guest rooms and pull or deep clean rooms.
- Responsible for bio-hazardous clean up
- Complete assigned special projects by management
- Promotes positive customer relations, provide the hotel guest the best possible service in a courteous and hospitable manner, having knowledge of hotel information
- Must conduct self in a professional manner at all times
- Performs any other duties assigned by Utility Manager, Housekeeping Manager, and any other member of Housekeeping Leadership
- Delivers supplies from the storerooms to the Housekeeping Department to be dispensed to various Members of the housekeeping department
- Cleans all elevator tracks, including FOH and BOH
- Utilizes HotSOS device to respond and complete issued service orders
- Must adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures
- Must always practice safety procedures
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to multitask and handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner and exhibit good judgment.
- Ability to present oneself in a confident, polished, and professional manner.
- Highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.
- Excellent organizational skills; be able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
- Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
