POSITION OVERVIEW

Lead Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing the soft count process, which involves the counting and verification of currency, tickets, and chips from various revenue-generating areas within the casino. Exceptional leadership skills, knowledge of soft count procedures, and ability to maintain accurate records will ensure the integrity and security of all financial transactions, contributing to the overall success of our casino operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Supervise and lead the soft count team in the accurate and efficient counting of currency, tickets, and chips collected from slot machines, gaming tables, and other revenue-generating sources
  • Ensure that all soft count procedures, including weighing, sorting, and recording data, are followed diligently
  • Train, mentor, and motivate soft count team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Schedule staff efficiently to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods and special events
  • Verify and reconcile soft count results, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare detailed reports of the soft count findings, providing accurate financial data to casino management
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of soft count machines and equipment, ensuring their optimal performance and accuracy
  • Report any technical issues to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution
  • Maintain strict security measures to safeguard the integrity of all financial transactions during the soft count process
  • Ensure compliance with all gaming regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements

  • Collaborate with relevant teams to implement process improvements and enhance overall efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost-saving measures within the soft count department
  • Implement best practices to streamline soft count procedures and optimize productivity
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education in accounting, finance, or related fields is advantageous
  • Previous experience in soft count operations or a related financial role within the gaming industry is preferred
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise soft count results
  • Proficient in using soft count machines and related equipment
  • Knowledge of gaming regulations and compliance standards pertaining to soft count procedures is beneficial
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

SALARY

$22 per hour - $24 per hour
