POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Houseperson in the Housekeeping Department at our renowned luxury resort and casino, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall excellence of our guest accommodations and public areas. Your dedication to maintaining a welcoming environment and supporting the housekeeping team will contribute to the exceptional guest experiences we provide.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Clean and maintain designated public areas, including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and meeting spaces, ensuring they are tidy, well-presented, and free from debris
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust surfaces regularly to maintain high standards of cleanliness and orderliness
  • Assist housekeeping attendants by emptying trash receptacles, replenishing amenities, and providing any necessary support to ensure efficient room turnover
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks as needed, such as moving furniture, deep cleaning carpets, and cleaning windows
  • Fulfill guest requests for additional amenities, towels, or other housekeeping-related services promptly and with a courteous demeanor
  • Assist in delivering special items to guest rooms, such as cribs, extra bedding, or supplies
  • Report any maintenance issues or damages observed in guest rooms or public areas to the appropriate department for prompt resolution
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure repairs and maintenance tasks are addressed efficiently
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, using proper equipment and techniques to prevent accidents and injury
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment by following established procedures and practices
  • Work closely with housekeeping attendants, supervisors, and other team members to ensure a cohesive and efficient workflow
  • Provide assistance and support to fellow team members when needed
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial role is a plus
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
  • Able to multitask and handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner and exhibit good judgment
  • Ability to present oneself in a confident, polished, and professional manner
  • Highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality
  • Excellent organizational skills; be able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, carrying, and bending
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES    

This positions does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

SALARY

$22.37 per hour
