POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Director of Housekeeping will assist in leading and directing all Housekeeping functions while ensuring the level of service provided results in a luxury hotel experience for all guests at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to ensure the highest level of quality assurance is consistently being met for our guestroom product and service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- With guidance from the Executive Director, responsible for all operations of the Housekeeping department, including the hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of all Members, executing department initiatives, and ensuring budgetary targets are met
- Ensure that Company and department standards, regulatory compliance, budget, and fiscal guidelines are being met
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and payroll for all Members within the department
- Work closely with departmental managers to identify and resolve inefficiencies/conflicts within the department
- Ensure Members adhere to all policies and procedures, and comply with all regulatory requirements
- Promote a “Safety First” culture and ensure all Members adhere to all safety policies and guidelines
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and operational forecasts, business reviews, and/or profit and loss meetings
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of products, including room types, amenities, services, and brand standards
- Assist with research and evaluation of all products and services provided by the Housekeeping department
- Perform room and Member inspections to ensure consistent quality
- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments’ leaders; Maintain close communications with Front Desk, VIP, Butler, and Facility Departments
- Provide directions and instructions, and make decisions to ensure a smooth operation
- Evaluate departmental progress and clearly communicate standards and goals to leadership and Members by facilitating the flow of information throughout the operation
- Provide exceptional, luxury service to guests and Members that differentiates us from the competitive set in the market
- Promote positive guest and Member relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service/training
- Act as Executive Director of Housekeeping in their absence
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s Degree in business, Hospitality, Hotel, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive Housekeeping management experience in a large, luxury casino/resort
- Experience with opening 3,000-plus room property is preferred
- Experience in creating and maintaining training materials for Housekeeping and related areas of a luxury resort
- Knowledge and deep understanding of aspects of hotel operations and housekeeping division function
- Union experience is required
- Able to multitask and handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner and exhibit good judgment
- Experience managing schedules, labor standards, and service recoveries are required
- Knowledge of Forbes Travel Guide training is preferred
- Bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency is a plus
- Ability to present oneself in a confident, polished, and professional manner
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, HotSOS, Rex, and other software used for Housekeeping
- Knowledge of pertinent labor laws and regulations related to OSHA is preferred
- Highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality
- Strong understanding of hospitality management programs and systems
- Ability to effectively achieve business unit goals and objectives by implementing strategic and operational plans, budgets, and best practices; and monitoring and evaluating results

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises all positions within the Housekeeping Department.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

$66000 per year - $86000 per year
