POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director will be responsible for the end-to-end guest experience for the Hall of Excellence as well as leading the Members who work within the exhibition. The position will be responsible for guiding guests through the experience, delivering insightful tours and sharing key facts and stories about the athletes’ legendary careers and lives. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Curate a world-class guest experience by answering questions, scheduling private tours and events, and ensuring that all visitors feel welcomed and valued, inclusive of tours, hosting private events with a focus on the standard guest journey through the exhibit
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and ensure contractual obligations are adhered to
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to schedule and secure private events, guest appearances and community outreach events
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with Warehouse Manager and Director of Security in coordinating memorabilia movements, installations and exit strategies
  • Track guest sentiment and exhibit engagement to understand what exhibits need to be rotated or moved to increase guest engagement
  • Responsible for analyzing guest experience data and composing weekly recaps to the Executive Leadership Team
  • Responsible for analyzing sales data and composing weekly recaps to the Executive leadership team
  • Recruit, hire, and execute onboarding paperwork and training schedules for new Members joining the department
  • Schedule regular team meetings, communicating strategy, product assortment, ensuring all members are aware of all activations and events that are being hosted in the exhibit
  • Display the highest standards of guest service, setting guest services standards to welcome guests in a polite, gracious, and enthusiastic manner; always paying attention and anticipating the needs of the business
  • Oversee guest service issues, offering recommendations and options to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Initiates any disciplinary action deemed necessary and maintain proper documentation of store leadership and staff in accordance with Company standards
  • Oversee monitoring and execution of daily staff payroll goals, product knowledge, and promotional events
  • Adhere to Loss Prevention and inventory control/compliance procedures
  • Maintains and ensures excellent visual standards regarding all case lines
  • Demonstrate property knowledge of the brand/lifestyle
  • Ensuring regular trainings are delivered to Members on all new collection pieces
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) years of operational management preferred
  • Experience in logistics and operations management preferred
  • Strong knowledge or willingness to learn about all aspects of athletes, their careers, personal lives and their legacies
  • Strong management skills, logistics and operational competencies
  • Passion for delivering engaging and memorable guest experiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a cohesive (team) member environment.
  • Poised and professional demeanor with a heightened focus around delivering exceptional guest experiences and building community outreach relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and ability to operate general office equipment
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; being able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Maintains knowledge of local competition and general industry trends
  • Full understanding of store operations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES         

This position will supervise all positions within the retail department.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

SALARY

$110000 per year - $140000 per year
