POSITION OVERVIEW:

The General Manager of Fleur de Lis is responsible for providing the highest level of service to our VIP Guests. The General Manager of Fleur de Lis will be responsible for the overall strategy for the department and overseeing all major daily operations. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: 

  • Possess thorough knowledge of the Fleur de Lis department in order to effectively lead the team of Butlers 
  • Responsible for creating and achieving all major performance targets 
  • Evaluate all performance & productivity of Fleur de Lis Members 
  • Responsible for training, development, and maintaining service standards in accordance with the Master Butler 
  • Plan, assign and direct duties of Fleur de Lis Department Members 
  • Possess the ability to de-escalate difficult situations and recover/resolve these accordingly 
  • Ensure personalized and prompt service to the guests that meet the service level agreements 
  • Possess full knowledge of the Fontainebleau, Fleur de Lis, and the surrounding Las Vegas area 
  • Act as the main custodian for the guest preference database 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key VIP’s, anticipating needs and ensuring they receive exceptional service 
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Suites/Penthouses with indirect reporting responsibilities of Facilities, Housekeeping and Technical Services 
  • Collaborate with other Leadership members to develop and implement strategies to improve the guest experience 
  • Create and manage the weekly schedule to align with the company labor guidelines 
  • Provide cross departmental and cross divisional information on all Fleur de Lis guests 
  • Conduct daily visual inspection of Fleur de Lis Suites and Penthouses 
  • Ensure Members have strong adherence to the uniform, personal appearance and hygiene standards 
  • Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive guest and company information 
  • Conduct regular training sessions with all Butlers to review service standards, and emphasizing techniques that meet job specifications 
  • Responsible for development, reviewn and compliance with monthly P&L reviews, monthly forecasting and yearly budgeting 
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary. 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Six to eight (6 - 8) years of leadership experience in luxury Hotel Management with an emphasis in Butler Management 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, Hospitality, Hotel, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience  
  • Highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality  
  • Previous experience in a large, luxury resort preferred  
  • Strong understanding of tea knowledge and service  
  • Strong understanding of liquors, mixology, and service  
  • Strong understanding of table management and international food service styles  
  • Strong understanding of international etiquette and protocol  
  • Strong understanding of wine knowledge and service  
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of all aspects of hotel operations, including revenue optimization, resort services, and back-of-house operations  
  • Extensive technical literacy, with a strong understanding of hospitality management programs and other hotel technology innovations (automation, smart rooms, etc.)  
  • Ability to effectively achieve business unit goals and objectives by implementing strategic and operational plans, budgets, and best practices; and monitoring and evaluating results  
  • Ability to actively influence and drive collaboration with individuals or groups at various levels within and outside of the organization  
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams  
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high-quality service levels  
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office  
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive guest and company information  
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights  

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                  

This position supervises the Director of Butlers, Master Butler, Butler Manager, Assistant Butler Managers, Butlers, and Butler Coordinators.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS  

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
