POSITION OVERVIEW
A Barista will create exceptional coffee and espresso-based beverages while providing friendly and efficient customer service. Attention to detail, knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, and dedication to delivering a delightful coffee experience will be key in building lasting relationships with our valued guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Expertly prepare a variety of coffee and espresso-based beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos, following our coffee shop's recipes and quality standards
- Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and provide personalized recommendations based on their preferences
- Tailor coffee beverages to meet customers' special requests, dietary preferences, and desired flavor profiles
- Process payments, operate the cash register, and handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Stay updated on our coffee shop's offerings, including coffee bean origins, brewing methods, and seasonal specials, to engage customers with product information
- Maintain a clean and organized coffee station, ensuring equipment and utensils are properly sanitized and ready for use
- Pay attention to beverage presentation, ensuring each drink is aesthetically pleasing and meets our coffee shop's quality standards
- Suggest additional menu items, such as pastries or specialty drinks, to enhance the customer experience and increase sales
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and provide support during busy periods
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a barista is a plus
- A genuine passion for coffee, with knowledge of coffee bean origins, brewing techniques, and espresso-based beverages
- The ability to showcase creativity in latte art and beverage presentation is a plus
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor to provide top-notch guest service
- A keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and consistency of beverage preparation
- Precise execution of coffee preparation and presentation
- Clear communication to interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations
- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing trends and customer preferences
- Proficiency in processing payments and providing accurate change
- Capability to manage multiple orders and tasks simultaneously
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and maintain a positive work environment
- Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting bags of coffee beans or milk containers
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
- Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
