POSITION OVERVIEW

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting entries, preparation of financial statements in accordance with G.A.A.P, and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements and support in the month-end close process
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet schedules and ledgers
  • Prepare report packages required internally and externally
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit evidence is organized and accounted for within the department
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Adhere to deadlines, time constraints, and efficient request responses
  • Ensure accounting records and practices adhere to G.A.A.P and company policies and remain standard across all business units
  • Assist with financial statement review, discrepancies, and inquiry research with partnering departments to promote Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) success
  • Create a work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, recognition, mutual respect, and Member satisfaction
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or accounting or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 
  • Six (6) months prior experience in an accounting position, preferably for a large-scale, luxury resort
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze data and draw logical conclusions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents

  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of Company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

SALARY

$50000 per year - $60000 per year
